Animal Protection Services Training Courses Curriculum

aps training

The spcaLA is offering training courses for all Humane Societies, Animal Control and Law Enforcement agencies only. These courses are geared toward entry-level positions and field officers, are provided in conjunction with the California State Humane Association, and may be used toward Humane Officer credentials. Supervisors and veteran officers are encouraged to attend.

All courses will have hands-on training, and some will include real-life scenarios that will better prepare every student for field service and specialized fields. Courses include several different types and species of animals to familiarize participants with real-life encounters. The instructors are highly qualified personnel including veteran field officers, peace officers, veterinarians, and attorneys. Some courses have critical information that will carry over into subsequent courses.
