Ways to Secure Their Future. . .

Bequests are a special source of support in building a sound future for spcaLA. Those who wish to help spcaLA for many years to come may do so through a Will, insurance policy, trust, gift of real estate or many other ways. Following, please find a few of the major ways of giving.
- Undesignated outright bequest: leaving spcaLA a specific sum of money; percentage of, or residue of your estate, to be used based on the needs of spcaLA.
- Gift for specific purposes: bequeathed outright as in #1, but designated to fund a particular program, endow a facility, provide a piece of equipment or other restricted purpose.
- Gift through life insurance policy: a life insurance policy is secured on the life of the donor, made payable in whole or in part to spcaLA who is listed as a beneficiary (either primary or contingent/secondary).
- Gift of real estate with reserved life estate: you retain your house for life; upon your death it goes to spcaLA.
- Charitable trusts: place cash or an appreciated asset (stock, real estate, jewelry, etc) in a charitable trust which pays you an income during your lifetime. Upon your death, the asset is given to spcaLA.
- spcaLA Peace of Mind Pet Re-Homing Program: Click here to find out more about providing for your pets’ future in the event of your passing.
There are many other ways to include charitable giving in your estate planning. It is important to consult an attorney, accountant, bank trust officer, or financial planner when making your estate plans. Assistance from a professional will help make sure your intentions are honored.
