Animal Safety: Kindergarten-5th Grade
Students will learn about the importance of understanding canine and feline body language in order to avoid bites. Students will also earn how to safely approach and meet an owned dog.
*Humane Educators MAY bring a dog to this presentation, if one is available. This presentation is approximately 20 minutes. We recommend that this presentation be coupled with the Pet Care presentation.
Anti-Cruelty/Animal Welfare (6th and up):
This presentation focuses on the link between animal cruelty and human violence. Students will also learn about state laws that protect pets and the importance of reporting animal cruelty.
*This presentation contains images of actual animal cruelty cases and is approximately 45 minutes-1 hour.
Pet Care: Kindergarten-5th Grade
This program covers the basic needs of animals. Students will learn the value and importance of being responsible for a pet. Students will also learn why it is important to be kind to animals.
*Humane Educators MAY bring an animal to this presentation, if one is available. This presentation is approximately 30 minutes. We recommend that this presentation be coupled with the Animal Safety presentation.
Pet Overpopulation: 6th Grade and up
Students will learn about the issue of pet overpopulation in the U.S. and worldwide. Emphasis is placed on methods to resolve the problem of pet overpopulation as well as a discussion on the myths and facts associated with sterilization.
*This presentation is approximately 30-45 minutes.
