HAPPY 132nd BIRTHDAY TO YOUR spcaLA!
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles
Celebrates 132 Years of Service
Los Angeles CA– Since 1877, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) has served the Southern California community providing support and shelter to abused and neglected animals. spcaLA is one of the oldest corporations in the state of California and the 4th oldest animal welfare organization in the United States. November 13th marks spcaLA’s 132nd birthday!
Despite grand misconceptions, there is no national SPCA or parent organization that provides financial support to spcaLA. spcaLA is YOUR SPCA serving Southern California for 132 years.
This past year, donations to spcaLA helped fund the Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) that was responsible for relocating or tending to 500 animals during this year’s Station Fire. spcaLA’s Humane Officers protected more than 6,700 animals by responding to more than 1,180 animal cruelty complaints. 6,000 Los Angelenos were educated through spcaLA’s Humane Education efforts --including at-risk youth, preventing countless acts of animal cruelty. spcaLA spayed or neutered more than 800 dogs, cats and rabbits and adopted more than 3100 animals to families in Southern California.
In lieu of a gala or party, spcaLA is simply asking for donations or in kind gifts to sustain the many programs and services that benefit the Los Angeles community. To make a donation, please go to www.spcaLA.com or call (323) 730-5300 x253.
spcaLA will continue to serve the people and animals in Southern California and spread the message to DONATE LOCALLY!
