CHIHUAHUA LIFT-OFF!
spcaLA Chihuahuas Loaded and Ready for Take-off

Los Angeles CA – Thirty-fiveChihuahuas from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) boarded a Pet Airways flight bound for Denver, Colorado. The lucky pups will land about 4pm where the Dumb Friends League of Denver will take the “pawsengers” and find them new homes.
Because Chihuahuas are the most popular breed in Los Angeles, spcaLA has more Chihuahuas than any other type of dog. Denver has an abundance of larger dogs and plenty of people interested in adopting small breeds. Anyone interested in adopting can contact Dumb Friend League in Denver, info at www.ddfl.org.
“spcaLA is lucky to have partners like Dumb Friends and Pet Airways that are dedicated to finding homes for pets in need. With this transport, we’ve satisfied a demand without breeding and puppy mills,” said Madeline Bernstein spcaLA President. “None of this could be possible without of the generosity of Dr. Leslie Capin, who funded the Chihuahua Airlift.”
spcaLA encourages people to first research breeds to assist in selecting a pet that fits best with their lifestyle. Every dog has a different personality, so meeting dogs before adoption and asking questions of adoption counselors can help make the right match.
