STRUT YOUR MUTT
spcaLA Offers Designer Dogs for Discriminating Tastes
Los Angeles -Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) has been quick to denounce the designer dog trend of "Cockerdoodles" and "Peekapoos" as elitist and unfair to the good ol' American mutt, and encouraging purchases from puppy mills. But, now spcaLA is throwing their proverbial Prada hat into the designer pooch ring by introducing the uber-exclusive spcaLA brand of Designer Dogs available right here at our shelters.
If you are in the market for a seriously inimitable mix, spcaLA is the source for you. Some of spcaLA's designer mutts are so exotic, not even the staff can identify them! For trendsetting potential pet owners who require a designer pooch that is rare and matchless, here is a guide to some of spcaLA's most exceptional mixes:
LaPitty (Labrador/Pitbull mix). An active voyager who seeks adventure, this high energy hybrid loves to "task." Enroll LaPitty in spcaLA's Behavior and Training Department's doggie education classes (like Harvard for dogs!) to keep him on track. LaPitty seeks a vigorous and canine knowledgeable companion.
Chihuerrier (Chihuahua/Terrier mix). The Paris Hilton of designer dogs, this bitch craves attention. Chihuerriers are rambunctious terriers with the demure affections of a Chihuahua. Known for her transportability and playfulness, the Chihuerrier is well-suited for urban life. This blend needs plenty of exercise and mental activity and is a good choice for city dwellers.
Sheprador (Shepherd/Labrador mix). These pups are a hybrid between two energetic breeds. The Sheprador can find purpose and entertainment snooping through the kitchen cabinets or outside chasing squirrels. This mix is not a lay-about and being forced to do so can make them stir-crazy. The Sheprador makes a perfect companion for jogging or a game of fetch.
Terripoo (Terrier/Poodle mix). Brawny and brainy, this little heart-grabber has plenty of charm and doggy wit. Terripoo is an active and intelligent breed who loves lots of stimulation. A good choice for vivacious urbanites that enjoy dog-related activities.
These designer dogs are available exclusively at spcaLA's two pet adoption centers (PAC): the South Bay PAC in the Hawthorne and the P.D.Pitchford Companion Animal Village and Education Center in Long Beach. Please remember exclusive new pooches are emerging daily! Visit www.spcaLA.com to view dogs available right now.
To commemorate the spcaLA's Designer Dogs campaign, a poster identifying a Designer Dog will adorn their kennels. Fashionistas who adopt a Designer Dog from spcaLA will receive a certificate of authenticity. T-shirts of the Designer Dogs are available at www.cafepress.com/spcaLA .
Remember, why have a "Chiweenie" or a "Whoodle" like everyone else, when you can have a one-of-a kind from spcaLA?
