CLAIMING YOUR PET FROM spcaLA
Call (310) 220-2978 if you believe your lost pet is housed at spcaLA. Lost pet services are done by appointment only. Come prepared – here is what you will need to do to reclaim your pet:
- Come to the designated spcaLA shelter on the date & time of your appointment. Please do not come to spcaLA without an appointment.
- Present a valid government-issued ID/driver’s license.
- Present proof of ownership such as license number, rabies certificate, photographs, or adoption papers. If your pet has been spayed/neutered, you must present proof of sterilization.
- You may be required to renew expired licenses or rabies certificates. Pet licenses must be renewed within city of residence. By law, all pets must have a rabies vaccine prior to leaving the shelter. You must present proof of rabies vaccine if spcaLA has not yet administered it.
- You may have to pay impound and boarding fees. There is an additional charge for pets that are not spayed or neutered. Cash and credit cards are accepted for payment.
