Come When Called I
  • Come When Called I is designed to develop and strengthen your dog’s distance recall, both on leash and off. Lots of fun and productive games to help you and your pet master this skill.
  • Price: $100.
    Dog ages: 16 weeks or older.
    Schedule: 6 weekly classes, 1 hour in length.
    Prerequisites: Social with all people; strangers can hold leash.
Come When Called II
  • Come When Called II is designed to practice your dog’s distance recall, both on leash and off. We run this class in the agility field using some obstacles for your dog to get around in order to get to you!
  • Price: $80
    Dog ages: 18 weeks or older.
    Schedule: 4 weekly classes, 1 hour in length.
    Prerequisites: Come When Called I; social with all people; strangers can hold leash.
Fido Fitness: Intro
  • Like Pilates for dogs, Fido Fitness will tire your dog out in a productive way! In Fido Fitness: Intro we will use FitPAWS® equipment to work on balance, flexibility, strength, and mental fitness for your dog. Fido Fitness is great for friendly dogs of all ages and abilities – from the canine athlete to your family pet. In class, we may use FitPAWS® gear including the following: wobble boards, treadmills, peanuts, paw pads, boards, donuts, and jumps.

    Dog ages: 6 months and older.
    Schedule: 4 classes, 45 minutes in length.
    Prerequisites: Owner and dog familiarity with lure/reward or clicker training; fluent sit, down, and stand; owner ability to sit, stand, and kneel on the ground.
Fido Fitness: Continuing
  • Like Pilates for dogs, Fido Fitness will tire your dog out in a productive way! In Fido Fitness: Continuing we will use FitPAWS® equipment to continue the balance, flexibility, strength, and mental fitness activities you learned in Fido Fitness: Intro.
  • Price: $130
    Dog ages: 6 months and older.
    Schedule: 6 classes, 45 minutes in length.
    Prerequisites: Fido Fitness: Intro; owner and dog familiarity with lure/reward or clicker training; fluent sit, down, and stan; owner ability to sit, stand, and kneel on the ground.
Fido Fitness: 1 Day Workout
  • Want to try your PAW at Fido Fitness but can’t commit to a full 4-week session? Fido Fitness: 1 Day Workout is for you! If your dog can sit, down, and stand, your dog can do Fido Fitness! In this 90 minute session on a circuit, you’ll work on your dog’s flexibility and strength, as well as mental and balance behaviors. We’ll do some cardio, and either introduce treadmill or work on treadmill duration. Like a Pilates circuit for dogs!
  • Price: $25
    Dog ages: 6 months and older.
    Schedule: 1 class, 90 minutes in length.
    Prerequisites: Owner and dog familiarity with lure/reward or clicker training; fluent sit, down, and stand; owner ability to sit, stand, and kneel on the ground.
Intro to Rally for Dogs
  • Intro to Rally for Dogs is a fun mix of obedience and agility that dogs of all ages and breeds can do. In Rally, the emphasis is on the dog heeling next to you.

    While they are heeling, you will ask for them to do a number of different behaviors including sit, down, stand, stay (while you walk around them & while you walk away from them), as well as calling them to you either on the front, side or around your back to settle on your right. There are many variations to the exercises. Whether you want to compete or are simply looking for another activity to do with your dog, this class is great! We teach both AKC® and Cynosport® Rally.

  • Price: $80
    Dog ages: 6 months and older.
    Schedule: 4 class, 1 hour in length.
    Prerequisites: Must be able to sit, down, stand, heel with no luring, and be able to work in close proximity with other dogs & people (6 ft.) with no barking or lunging.
Pooches that Pull
  • Does your dog pull you down the street? It’s time to make your daily walk a joy instead of a chore. Sign up now for Pooches That Pull, an intense 4-week session that will help turn you and your dog into the envy of your neighborhood!
  • Price: $80
    Dog ages: 18 weeks and older.
    Schedule: 4 class, 70 minutes in length.
    Prerequisites: Able to work in close proximity with other dogs and stay focused on the owner. Have completed a positive, basic obedience class.
Tricks Training
  • Have fun while teaching your dog new things! Roll over, beg, crawl, close doors are just a few things we will learn.
  • Price: $80
    Dog ages: 18 weeks and older.
    Schedule: 4 weekly classes, 1 hour in length.
    Prerequisites: Ability to lure and some previous clicker use.
Tricks, Advanced
  • Advanced Tricks will help you sharpen your dog’s current skills while developing new ones! Advanced Tricks class features challenging exercises such as chain behaviors and working away from the handler. Working with platforms and shaping. Dogs and handlers will work with hand signals, verbal cues and props.
  • Price: $80
    Dog ages: 18 weeks and older.
    Schedule: 4 weekly classes, 1 hour in length.
    Prerequisites: Tricks Training.

Seminars & Testing

Canine Good Citzen® Test
  • This is the Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) TEST ONLY. Students and their dogs are expected to be on time and well groomed. The fee is nonrefundable and will be considered a donation if your dog does not pass.
  • Dog ages: 6 months or older recommended.
    Schedule: One, 30 minute long evaluation.
    Prerequisites: Knowledge of the 10 test items for the Canine Good Citizen® Evaluation
Dog Park Etiquette
  • Learn how to be a good dog park visitor at spcaLA’s Dog Park Etiquette class!

    In this class you’ll learn how to understand and recognize good and bad behaviors to encourage positive interactions at the dog park. Whether you’ve never been to a dog park or you go every day, spcaLA’s Dog Park Etiquette is for you! This class is for humans only. Please do not bring your dog to class.

  • Price: $10 per person
    Dog ages: Do not bring dogs to class.
    Schedule: 1 classes, 1 & 1/2 in length.
    Prerequisites: N/A
Puppies!
  • Get all of the information you should have BEFORE bringing a puppy into your home in Puppies! class!

    We will cover breed and size considerations, family preferences, house training, biting prevention, obedience, and other considerations. This class is for humans only. Please do not bring your dog to class.

  • Price: $10 per person
    Dog ages: N/A
    Schedule: 1 class, 90 minutes in length.
    Prerequisites: N/A

Please note:
spcaLA group training classes are for friendly dogs and their owners, looking to learn. Dogs must be in good general health and current on vaccines. spcaLA only uses positive training methods and training tools. We do not support the use of aversive collars such as prong, modified prong, pinch, choke, or shock collars. spcaLA group training classes are NOT meant for:

  • Dogs who growl at or are otherwise unfriendly to people;
  • Dogs who have bitten people or other animals;
  • Dog who exhibit aggression or other behavioral issues.

If your dog exhibits any of these behaviors, or if your dog does not meet class prerequisites, you will be dismissed and no refund will be issued. If your dog has behavior issues, private training is available. Please call (562)570-4910 to discuss options.
