SUMMARY:Oktoberfest the Musical - An Almost True Story
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS \nFor every ticket purchased to the show using our special code “spcala”\, $10 will be donated back to our organization. The instructions for when to put in the code on the ticketing web site are below. What could be better\, a fun night out with friends and family while raising money to save an animal’s life? It’s a win/win. And\, did I mention one free beer (or water) with each ticket? \nSome endorsements of those who have seen the show\, famous and just regular folk: \nProducer Jerry Bruckheimer commented\n“It was a wonderful play and a lot of fun\, with a great young cast!”\nPatricia Gandara from Westwood-Memorial Park posted on a neighborhood message center “This is not a sales pitch\, I am just a neighbor. I just went to see the Oktoberfest musical at the Crest Theater (a beautiful theater on Westwood Blvd near Wellworth) and it was great fun\, wonderful actors/singers and live music. The theater has been converted into a hofbrau and you are served a stein of German beer with the show. It’s terrific to have live musical in the Westwood neighborhood. You can get more information and tickets at www.oktoberfestthemusical.com Highly recommended!”\nLeslie Wright\, Sherman Oaks “It’s very professional\, filled with great young talent singing and acting out a very fun-filled story. It’s a super well-tuned production and makes you laugh\, sing along\, join in the frivolity – and most importantly leave the theatre feeling happy and well-entertained. What more could you ask for?” \nKathleen Unger\, Santa Monica “Congratulations on your fabulous Octoberfest! You have created such a clever\, fun\, moving and rich experience.” \nThe Music was written by Harold Faltermeyer (Grammy Awards for his music for Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop) and the script was written by Philip LaZebnik (Disney’s Pocahontas and Mulan and Dreamworks’ Prince of Egypt\, now being adapted by Philip for a Broadway musical in collaboration with composer of Wicked\, Stephen Schwartz). Philip and Harold also co-wrote the lyrics for our show. The play was directed and choreographed by Madeleine Dahm\, currently Artist in Residence at the Wallis Annenberg Theatre in Beverly Hills and the Music Director is Thomas Griep\, Music Director and Conductor for shows at The Hollywood Bowl\, The Kodak\, The Ahmanson and more. Ginger Perkins is the Producer. \nThe Synopsis and Ticket Information \nOKTOBERFEST THE MUSICAL – An Almost True Story is a musical comedy to be enjoyed year-round\, filled with spectacular songs\, ranging from spirited oom-pah-pah polkas\, jazzy burlesque numbers and delicate love duets to Broadway show-stoppers. \nThe audience enters an environment much like a Munich beer hall complete with traditional long tables and benches with other seating on sofas and cushioned chairs to create an atmosphere to enjoy a night of song\, dance and merriment hosted by a jovial Emcee and performed by an energetic and enthusiast troupe of performers. But the show’s producer unexpectedly shows up\, outraged that the Emcee has subverted her historically accurate drama of the romance between a prince and princess\, into an “almost true” musical romp. The battle between Emcee and producer sends the troupe of hapless performers spinning out of control into hilarious chaos. \nPlaying now through October\, 2016\nFridays and Saturdays 8:00pm & Sundays 7:00pm\n(Some days and dates may not be available due to Special Event Bookings)\nThe show is approximately 95 minutes long from overture to curtain call.\nThe Crest Theatre\n1262 Westwood Blvd\nLos Angeles\, CA 90024 \nGroup Tickets available\, Student Discounts available and Charity Partnerships encouraged!\nContact Ginger at 310-440-0221 \nTickets available at: oktoberfesttehmusical.com or 1-800-838-3006 ext 2 \nAt the final step before your ticket purchase is completed you will be given the opportunity to enter our special code\, “spcala”\, after the prompt\, “If you were given a special code by your group or charity\, please type the code you were given here.” Be sure to type in” spcala” to ensure the $10 rebate back to spcaLA to support the work we do in saving animals’ lives.
