National Dog Day

It’s National Dog Day and we’re celebrating with ABC7! On August 23rd from 5am-9am and 11am, catch us on the ABC7 Morning Show. We’re bringing the cutest dogs and puppies, who are all available for adoption.

Thanks to Howard’s Appliances and Adventist Health Glendale, pet adoption fees for all pets at all spcaLA Pet Adoption Centers are waived on Friday, August 23rd through Sunday, August 25th.

Puppies & dogs featured on ABC7: Animals featured during the live TV broadcast on August 23rd will be available for adoption at the spcaLA PD Pitchford Companion Animal Village (7700 E Spring St., Long Beach). Adoptions for featured pets will begin at 11am.  Drawings will be held if necessary (see below). Must be present to participate. The Village opens at 10am.

• All adopters must complete an adoption application. Save time by completing online. Completing an application does not “hold” a pet or guarantee adoption.
• All adoption requirements apply.
• Additional fees for medications, ecollars, or spay/neuter deposit may apply. $75 refundable deposit is due at time of adoption for unspayed/unneutered pets.
• Bring a government issued ID, proof of pet allowment if renting, and patience.
• Adoptions are done a first-come, first-serve basis. Submitting an application does not hold or reserve an animal, or guarantee adoption. If several parties present express interest in the same pet simultaneously, spcaLA will enter them into a drawing and begin the adoption process with the first name drawn. Please note: we are unable to verify arrival time prior to our opening. As such, if multiple groups arrive for the same animal prior to opening time, and express interest in the same pet, spcaLA will use the drawing system regardless of place in line. Drawings for ABC7 featured dogs will be held at 11am. Please enter the drawing for your desired ABC7-featured pup prior to 11am. Must be present to participate.
