Maaike (pronounced “Micah”), a student at Arovista Elementary School, is offering tutoring in her favorite subjects: Math, Reading, English, and Science. She is a straight A student who loves to help, and describes herself as “very patient, encouraging, and supportive” Her tutoring experience includes helping her little brother with his studies.

Maaike‘s fundraiser is for her GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Passion Project. The Passion Project tasks GATE students with identifying a problem and then creating a solution to address it. She hopes to raise $500 to help neglected and abused animals.

Micah participated in spcaLA’s Friends for Life Summer Camp™ and the experience fostered her love for animals and fanned a desire to help pets in need. Since 2004, spcaLA has offered summer camp, with the exception of 2020. Friends for Life Summer Camp will resume in June of 2021.

For those who wish to support Maaike, but find themselves without tutoring needs, may donate to her fundraiser, or enter her online drawing contest. More information about Maaike’s fundraising efforts can be at spcaLA.com/events.
