Los Angeles, CA — Flan, a one-year-old Terrier mix left spcaLA South Bay Pet Adoption Center today in the care of his new family! Flan, now lovingly renamed Norman, was rescued from a self-compacting trash can by a Gardena Police Sargent who later adopted him.
After Flan was extracted from the trash can on December 19th, he was brought to spcaLA South Bay where Flan was cared for while he completed the mandatory stray hold and was neutered. Sargent Beerling and his family returned to adopt Flan on Christmas Eve; the dog officially left the shelter today.

The Beerling family is incredibly excited to take him home. They said, “Norman hit the jack pot!” We agree.
spcaLA encourages the public to report suspected cases of animal cruelty to local law enforcement and to consider adoption when looking for a pet. Together, we can create more happy endings like Norman’s.
