40 summer camp scholarships available thanks to Youth Power PB Long Beach Grant
Los Angeles, CA — Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) is offering scholarships (including meals and transportation) for one week (August 7-11, 2023) of Friends for Life Summer Camp™ to 40 Long Beach youth. The scholarship application deadline has been extended to 5pm Friday, July 28th. English/Spanish application available at spcaLA.com.

Scholarship applications due July 28th
The requirements for the need-based scholarships have been expanded to include all youth ages 12-17 who reside in Long Beach. The scholarships are made possible by a grant awarded to spcaLA from Youth Power PB Long Beach.
Camp scholarship recipients will participate in dog training, cat care, games and activities as well as expanded curriculum around anger identification, conflict solving, empathetic choices, anti-bullying and kindness towards others. Programming will also focus on developing future careers with animals.
Youth Power PB Long Beach, the first citywide participatory budget pilot process, provides non-profit organizations undertaking work aligned with the goals of the Youth and Emerging Adults Strategic Plan. Funding for the Youth Power PB Long Beach program is provided by Measure US.
