Los Angeles, CA — Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) has spent months peparing for this weekend’s CatConLA® (catconla.com) where LA’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization hopes to find homes for more than 100 adorable, purring cats and kittens. CatConLA® is June 25 and 26, 2016, at The Reef, 1933 S. Broadway, in Los Angeles.
CatConLA®’s presenting sponsors, Hill’s® Science Diet® and Petco will join spcaLA in hosting the expo’s 3,000-square-foot Clowder Adoption Lounge. The Lounge will be staffed by spcaLA employees, volunteers, and members of the spcaLA Veterinary team, and features more than 100 of spcaLA’s adoptable cats and kittens of every shape, color, and size.
“You don’t get to be 139 years old without finding new and interesting ways to be a part of the ever-evolving community around us,” said Madeline Bernstein, President spcaLA. “We are excited to find homes for these cats and kittens and are honored that CatConLA 2016, Hill’s® Science Diet® and Petco chose to partner with us.”
The adoption fee at CatConLA® is $50 for one cat or kitten, and $75 for the Purrrfect Pair (two cats or kittens). Each new cat parent will receive a special gift bag with samples and coupons for both the new parent and their new adoptee, valued at more than $650 in savings from Petco & Hill’s® Science Diet®.
Part expo, part symposium, CatConLA® showcases the world’s top cat¬centric merchandise for cats and their people. In addition to the adoption village, activations include a beauty bar and an escape room. In addition, the convention offers up a series of seminars based on the relationship of cats and pop culture, with speakers from BuzzFeed Pets and Cats of Instagram, for example, as well as Meet and Greets with top celebrity cat influencers, Lil BUB, Pudge, and Nala cat. 15,000 attendees are expected.
