spcaLA To Assist with Equine Evacuation

DART Team responds to Sand Fire in Santa Clarita

Los Angeles, CA – Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) ™ is responding to a request to assist Los Angeles County with the evacuation of horses affected by the Santa Clarita Fire.

The spcaLA DART team will deploy this morning from the spcaLA PD Pitchford Companion Animal Village & Education Center. The team is comprised of spcaLA Humane Officers, shelter staff, veterinary staff, and volunteers highly trained in animal handling and disaster response.

spcaLA’s DART has deployed to assist people and animals in times of disaster including wildfires in Los Angeles, San Diego and San Bernardino Counties and hurricanes Katrina and Ike.
